He was a visiting scholar in the Ohio State University of USA from Oct. 2013 to Oct. 2014. He has been a faulty in Wuhan University since 2010. And now, he is an associate professor in the school of Geodesy and Geomatics at Wuhan University from 2014. His research interests include satellite altimetry, satellite gravimetry and their applications. His works mainly focused on the changes of dynamic ocean and hydrology, especially on the establishment of the marine gravity and global mean sea surface height models, global sea level change, global ocean current change and hydrologic changes in mainland China. Associate Prof. Dr. Jin is a member of the Thematic Network Program "Modern Geodetic Space Techniques for Global Change Monitoring". He will focus on the global sea level change and the lake water level change in mainland China by multi-satellite altimetry and relative interdisciplinary techniques.
